Privacy policy

No account. No personal data. Your progress stays on your phone.

This is the full privacy policy for The Daniel's AI Courses on iOS and Android. It is written in plain language on purpose, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.

July 2026
No sign up
The app has no accounts and no login. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
Nothing stored on us
Your lessons, answers and notes never leave your device. There is no user database.
Works offline
Lessons are text first and are read from the device, so the app works with no connection.
No ads, no selling
We run no advertising network and we do not sell or share data with data brokers.

Who we are

The app is published by The Daniel (Daniel Szalai), an individual developer based in Hungary. Contact: hello@aicourses.hu.

This policy covers the mobile app on the App Store and Google Play, and this website. If a future feature changes what is described here, the policy is updated before that feature ships.

What stays on your device

Everything you produce while learning is stored locally, in the app's own storage on your phone. It is not uploaded, and we cannot read it.

Progress Which lessons you finished, your streak and your experience points.
Quiz answers Your answers and results, kept so the app can repeat what you got wrong.
Glossary The terms you saved while reading.
Certificate name If you type a name onto a certificate, that name is stored on the device only.

What we measure, and how

To know whether the app works we use Firebase and Google Analytics for Firebase, provided by Google. These collect usage and stability data in an aggregated form.

Concretely, that means events such as app opened, lesson finished or quiz completed, plus technical information: device model, operating system version, app version, language and an approximate region derived from the IP address. Crash reports contain the technical state of the app at the moment it stopped.

No content We do not send your answers, your notes, your glossary or any text you type.
No identity No name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location or advertising profile.
Pseudonymous Analytics uses an app instance identifier generated on your device, not an identity we can link to you.

Under the GDPR our legal basis for analytics and crash reporting is legitimate interest: keeping the app working and understanding which lessons people finish. The data is limited to what that purpose needs.

Where local rules require consent instead, the app asks for it on first launch and the analytics stay off until you agree.

Purchases and Pro

Payment is handled entirely by Apple and Google. We never see or store your card details, billing address or full transaction record.

The app receives from the store only whether an active subscription exists on that device. Refunds, cancellations and receipts are handled in your App Store or Google Play account.

Working offline

Lesson text ships with the app or is downloaded once, so reading, quizzes and progress work with no connection.

While you are offline no analytics leave the device. Events wait in a local queue and are sent the next time you are online. If you never reconnect, they are eventually discarded.

Who else touches the data

Only the processors needed to run and distribute the app, and each of them handles it under their own privacy terms.

Google (Firebase, Analytics, Play) Usage and stability data, and distribution on Android.
Apple (App Store) Distribution and purchases on iOS.

International transfers

Our processors operate globally, so analytics data may be processed outside the European Economic Area. Those transfers happen under the safeguards those providers publish, including standard contractual clauses.

How long anything is kept

On device data is kept until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes everything the app stored locally, and it cannot be recovered afterwards.

Aggregated analytics are retained by the analytics provider under their standard retention window, which we keep at the shortest setting that still shows trends.

Your choices and your rights

Because we hold no account and no identifiable record, most requests are answered in one step: the data is on your phone and under your control.

Turn analytics off Analytics can be switched off in the app settings at any time.
Delete everything Deleting the app removes all local data, including progress and glossary.
Ask us For access, correction, objection or a complaint, write to hello@aicourses.hu. Under the GDPR you may also complain to your local supervisory authority.

Children

The app is written for adults and older students, and it is not directed at children under thirteen. We do not knowingly collect anything from them, and there is nothing to collect, since there are no accounts.

This website

The site is a plain informational page. It sets no advertising cookies and builds no visitor profile. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts a Google server to fetch them.

Changes to this policy

If the app starts doing something this document does not describe, the document is updated first, and the date at the top changes with it. Material changes are announced in the app before they take effect.
